Q: What is Bureau2go?
A: Bureau2go is a website that you can use to clean, update and augment data. For example, you could use it to check the addresses stored on your customers database against the PAF (Postcode Address File). You could check customer names against the electoral register, you can update addresses for people who have moved. you can find postcodes for incomplete addresses. You can even get lists of organisation addresses in post code areas.
Q: How does it work?
A: Every user of bureau2go is provided with a login and password, when you log in to the service, you will be able to upload data to the site, the data will be processed overnight and, when complete, an area of the site will be made available for you to collect your data from. To get a login and password simply fill in the online registration form.
Q: How can I use it?
A: The bureau2go site will be available 24 hours a day, we promise a speedy return on your data and an efficient service. The most efficient method is data transfer to and from our server although other methods of data transfer are available to you. The bureau2go site is easy to use and provides plenty of help for new users but Hopewiser staff will be available during office hours to deal with any problems you may have.
Q: How will it benefit me?
A: Hopewiser are the producers of the most accurate and reliable addressing software, we have been unbeaten in any independent tests for quality and accuracy. If you have small addressing needs that do not require software but wish to use these facilities on an occasional or one off basis then bureau2go is for you.
Q: What kind of services are available?
A: Bureau2go is a new service and at present there are facilities available for address verification, postcoding and address correction. However, new services are being added all the time, it will soon be possible to add grid references to addresses, order themed and plotted maps, verify names against the electoral register and create targeted address lists for direct mailing purposes.
Q: Who are Hopewiser?
A: Hopewiser were founded in 1982 and were the first company to be recognised by the Royal Mail as resellers of the PAF. We have used those years of experience to create flexible software that has been unbeaten ever since. We are still expanding the possibilities of address management and, through this site and our software products, we offer you the best and most cost effective solution to whatever addressing needs you have.
Q: How much will bureau2go cost me?
A: For data processing, there is a charge of £0.0125 per record with a £12.50 minimum charge
Q: I've got too much data to upload, can I still use the service?
A: Bureau2go accepts compressed data, so you can use a zip program to reduce the file size, if this is still too much then there are other ways of using the bureau2go system. Eg. you could specify that data is to arrive on a cd or other storage device, you can specify that you would like data returned to you in a similar manner. You can send data as an email attachment and receive the results in the same way.
Q: I don't want to send confidential data over the internet, what can I do?
A: If you wish to send and receive data by other means this is acceptable. Other options for sending and receiving data are: cd or other storage device or as an email attachment.
Q: What data formats does bureau2go accept?
A: Presently, bureau2go accepts text only data in either delimited or fixed field format. If you have another database type and are unable to extract data in this format, contact us for advice. Data can be sent zipped but other compression techniques are not supported.
Q: My bureau2go job has been processed. How do I proceed?
In order to gain access to your results your payment must first be verified. A link to our online payment facility can be found on the Job Progress page.
